It was our biggest year yet here at Swank. We worked with more than 15 clients to plan over 20 large events. We made new vendor friends & found some of our favorite clients, our team grew, and lots of memories were made.
Some of our favorite events of the year?
We started off the year with an awards ceremony with Marketplace Logan, which may just be one of the most beautiful events we’ve been a part of. From the stunning centerpieces to the mirror tables, this event was anything but your typical hotel banquet. Elegant, stylish, and eye-catching, we loved everything about this gathering.
PERKS! We’ve been part of this HR conference since its inception in YEAR when only one show was hosted, and has now grown to host 4 cities in 2019, and now 6 cities for the upcoming year! We brought in aerialists, a champagne wall, and fun entertainment for guests, making this unlike any other tradeshow.
Another one of our favorite events? Acacia’s 10-year anniversary celebration on the Spirit of Boston. We sailed from the Boston Harbor and guests enjoyed a delicious email, splendid desserts, a DJ that kept everyone dancing all night, a rooftop deck, and one of the most stunning sunsets we’ve ever seen. We wish every night was as beautiful as that one!
Vestmark celebrated their holiday party just before Christmas, and transformed the hotel ballroom into a Winter Wonderland. Glow Furniture, one of Boston’s best bands, extraordinary design thanks to our vendor friends, all made for one incredible evening.
2019 was a hit, but 2020 is looking like it’ll be even better. We hope we get the chance to work with your team this year, so give us a shout if you need help planning your conference or company gathering.
We hope everyone’s holiday season was joyous & warm, and we wish you the happiest of new year’s for 2020.
We had so much fun planning and executing this year’s Vestmark company holiday party with a non-traditional theme of the 1970’s!
We were thrilled to see all of the attendees got into the spirit of the celebration by wearing 70’s outfits and boogieing the night away to the amazing Motor Booty Affair coordinated by Murray Hill Talent.
Motor Booty Affair were the real deal covering a plethora of 1970 songs including all the party favorites like “YMCA” and “That’s the Way” which got the guests on the dance floor! Motor Booty also had costume changes, mirror balls, awesome lighting effects – and afro’s! They were the real deal and highly entertaining! Photos below by Kristen Renneker Photography.
Swank Events was excited to once again partner with the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Boston and some key vendors to lend excitement to the night! Casino Productions provided different gaming table options for guests with amazing light displays that added to the atmosphere – these tables are always a huge hit with this group. Art of the Event‘s light-up bars perfectly complemented the colorful centerpieces designed by Swank Events (which guests loved so much that they took them home at the end of the evening!).

Swank Events also had fun designing (with the help from Print House) a unique charger plate in the form of a vinyl record with a label marking the date and occasion on it. It was also a unique takeaway gift for the guests to remember the evening by.
Overall, it was one of the grooviest holiday party experiences that Swank Events has had the pleasure of pulling together!
It’s this time of year that we start getting really excited about pulling together ideas for client holiday parties!
While we are all familiar with traditional Christmas colors of red & green, pine wreaths and poinsettia plants, having a holiday party for your employees to remember can start somewhere completely different – and that’s why we love our work.
Last year we organized a Great Gatsby holiday party for a client that has set a new tradition with a “Non-Traditional” Holiday Party. This year, we are going back to the era of disco and we are working on pulling together the colors and inspiration sources for decor.
The invite is going to encourage employees to dress up in 1970’s garb and we can’t wait to see how many Saturday Night Fever suits show up! We’ve already secured the band Motor Booty Affair for the evening’s entertainment along with a light-up disco dance floor to encourage dancing! A hotel venue in Boston is easier than some other locations to transform, as in this case into a disco studio, with backdrops, lighting, table settings and we’re partnering with Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge this year.
When planning a holiday party, regardless of the theme, we are always looking for a flow of the evening’s events to help shape the main elements (food, entertainment, speakers etc.) at the venue. If a client wants employees to mix and mingle the entire evening, having dinner stations, in-room bar and no assigned seating can accomplish this easily. If you are going to have speakers or awards and employee recognitions, then having a plated dinner at a set time will help keep the evening on-track.
Swank Events is looking forward to having a busy holiday season – and we would love to hear from you to help your organization plan your next event! It’s not too late for Swank to help you with your holiday party – so contact us today!
