Planning a corporate event can be a lot of fun, but it’s not always easy to make it feel personal for each and every one of your employees. Especially for companies that are growing quickly, or companies that are larger to begin with, individual employees can get lost of the hubbub of the big day without particular care and attention to making them feel considered.

Planning a corporate event in 2017? We’ve got you covered! First – check out our list of 5 fun corporate event themes, then read on for ideas on how to make the day extra special for your employees.

Pick a suitable venue. Does your company embody certain values, like environmental friendliness? If so, then picking a venue that holds the same values is important and shows your commitment to your beliefs as an organization.

Personalize drinking glasses, and hand them out to employees as they arrive. They’ll serve as drinking glasses for the day of the event, but then double as nice take home gifts for your employees to enjoy long after the festivities have ended.

Create an event-specific hashtag. This is a popular trend at weddings, so why not for corporate events, too?! It’s playful and fun, and lets both the employer and employees look back on the event with a cumulative view of everything shared about it on social media.

Create a custom playlist. A few weeks in advance of your party, invite employees to add their favorite songs to a tracking spreadsheet, and on the big day, play those songs! Everyone will hear something they enjoy, and it’ll mean more than playing a generic mix or something from the radio.

Add a media wall, and encourage employees to contribute their favorite workplace-inspired photographs. Whether they’re from a day of employer-sponsored volunteering, a past company outing, or silly antics around the office, gathering a bunch photographs (digital or physical – up to you!) can really heighten the mood and remind your employees just what a special place it is that they work at.

Use company branding. This might be an obvious one, but make sure your company colors and logo are front and center. You might consider branding some swag as giveaways, or creating a signature company cocktail or snack. You can easily use company colors in your decorations — balloons, lighting, and table top decor are all easy places to add a custom flair.
