It’s hard to believe the fourth of July is here! Whether you’re planning a bash for 10 people or 100 people, we’ve got you covered. Not sure where to start? Today, we’re talking about all things red, white and blue with stars and stripes, too! Here are some ideas that we just can’t wait to incorporate into our BBQ.
We just LOVE these red, white + blue mason jars! Not looking to incorporate flowers into your décor this year? Use these great mason jars as utensil holders.

And what BBQ would be complete without some amazing food!?
These delicious BBQ Pork chops are a perfect addition to your main course! And one of our family favorites is fresh fruit during the summer – so don’t forget to make a colorful fruit salad for your gathering. It’s also a wonderful dish to bring to parties as well – everyone appreciates a healthy alternative!

And while Americans will spend more than 1 Billion dollars on beer for the 4thof July, here are some cocktail ideas a whole crowd can enjoy – like a citrus infused white sangria! Or something fun to beat the heat that the kids can slurp like this Jell-O Slushy!

You’ll also need something to keep your guests’ busy until it’s time for fireworks, so break out the lawn games!
If you already have them, great! If not, create a ladder bean-bag toss! New twist on an old favorite – just add signs and beanbags for this game! Or get some bottled sodas, place on the lawn and use mason jar lid rings to create a ring toss! Large scale versions of table-top games for the backyard are also a fun addition to your party (purchased or made!),like giant Jenga!
Whatever you are planning for the 4th– we at Swank Events hope you have a safe and happy holiday with friends and family! Cheers!

We all know the struggle to find appropriate gifts for our boss, co-workers or a more personalized recognition piece for employees than an acrylic paperweight.
We have a new source to help you find that perfect something!
Swank Events recently had the pleasure of sampling a few items from Groovy Guy Gifts and we’re really impressed with the line-up of this website!
In one example of something unique for the gift recipient – why not a personalized flask with their caricature on it! The customized flask that Swank’s owner Kristin received with her husband’s likeness on it came out amazing! Check out the side by side photos below to see what was submitted and the end result! Additionally, the quality of the flask is great and the price for a one-of-a-kind item is totally reasonable.
Aside from the flask, there are any number of different gift ideas that range from everyday use items with monogramming available, such as the Brokebag Mountain duffel bag to the personalized wooden wine worker. All items have pithy descriptions that will keep you scrolling!
There is also a sister site for women’s items called Bridesmaidgiftsboutique.com. It too has a range of items that can be personalized in unique ways. I got a lovely bag called the Rome if you want to Tote that was personalized with my initials. It’s a great size and will come in handy this summer! While the site is geared towards Bridesmaid items, you could easily find items in here for any occasion.
Check out these two websites for some fun ideas next time you are looking for something for a special colleague or retirement party!
With today’s tight and competitive labor markets, some companies are getting creative to attract, retain and promote their employee well-being by offering programs related to wellness or having a great office environment. A convention designed to specifically help companies gather ideas in this area made a stop in Boston recently and Swank Events was please to help plan and execute this wonderful event at the Hynes Convention Center on May 9th. While it was our first convention engagement – it went very smoothly and had a great feel to it!

According to their website, Perks is the “…only convention in the nation dedicated to service and amenity discovery for your workplace.” With over 80 vendors and 800 attendees – it was a huge success with unique, local businesses out to show off their great ideas! A big hit at the convention was Bike Bus – which is a mobile spin gym that can come to your office!

In addition to the exhibitors handing out loads of items for attendees to take home, there were several roundtable meetings with additional goodies and lunch options!
Great swag bags were put to use with wonderful goodies from all of the event exhibitors!

It was wonderful working with the Perks team to make an impact on all the attendees as well as the vendors! Swank Events Boston was so pleased to be a part of this amazing event and look forward to Perks coming back to Boston next year!

Last Wednesday, May 30th, was National Creativity Day.
While it may not seem like something to mark on your calendar, it makes us think of all of the amazing things we get to do as Corporate Event Planners; our job is to help clients bring their vision to life with unique touches!
We are fortunate to have the opportunity to flex our creative muscles daily! It may be something as simple as the centerpieces and decorations for a retirement party, or it could be the menu selections for a special event based on the evening’s theme.
Themed parties also give planners a chance to explore all the different ways to set an atmosphere for a room with flowers, food, activities and even the beverages! A company’s recent Great Gatsby event saw a typical hotel ballroom transformed into a roaring 1920’s speakeasy – complete with gaming tables!
The other aspect that motivates us creatively are the wonderful people we work with! While we’ve already talked about the benefits of hiring an event planner, our clients know that we are there to make their event look impressive and run as smooth as possible. It’s their excitement that makes us passionate about our work and rise to the challenge of each new engagement!
